Prospect of Tourism Development in Khaptad National Park: A Local Perspective

Tourism in Nepal has flourished over the past two decades, making it one of top global destinations for visit. Its abundant wildlife, stunning trekking routes, snow-fed rivers, picturesque lakes, and warm-hearted locals have been contributing perpetually to appeal local tourists. With rise digital economy, tourism is experiencing modern advancements. This study aims analyze perceptions residents regarding development. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed validate research results, utilizing both descriptive inferential statistics. A sample size 219 respondents conveniently selected; indicating a higher interest among males predominance economically active individuals aged 21-40 years. The shows ICT development emerging as common challenge visitors Khaptad National Park. SEM results confirmed fit validity five constructs. To establish KNP premier tourist destination, Board, Government, Municipality should prioritize its manage influx Notably, motivation subjective norms significantly influence visitors’ behavior, while perceived behavioral control intention do not. Local communities actively engage promoting through effective marketing strategies, improvement facilities will enhance travel convenience. Hence, efforts be made promote business activities products. findings this analysis benefit various stakeholders, including Ministry Culture, Civil Aviation, Department Tourism, hotel associations, Travel agencies, governments, researchers, professionals, prospective students. article an original work with no potential conflict publication.
